Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Proven experience in managing risk across projects, operations, and financial processes.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in risk analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects or similar industries is a plus.

The Director of Risk Management Department provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of the organization’s risk management activities. This role includes managing Project Risks and Internal Control functions while ensuring the effective identification, mitigation, and compliance of risks across all operations and projects. The Director plays a pivotal role in fostering a proactive, risk-aware culture and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the organization’s comprehensive risk management strategy and framework.
- Establish policies, standards, and guidelines for effective risk identification, mitigation, and monitoring.
- Provide strategic guidance to the Risk Management team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s objectives.
- Provide leadership and oversight for the activities of Project Risk Management and Internal Control functions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department to enhance risk management practices.
- Oversee enterprise-wide risk assessments, ensuring the identification of strategic, operational, regulatory, and financial risks.
- Maintain a consolidated risk register and ensure regular updates and reviews.
- Develop and oversee the execution of risk mitigation plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on risk exposures and mitigation efforts.
- Foster a culture of accountability and proactive risk management across all levels of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to assess the adequacy of risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for risk-related regulatory inquiries and external stakeholders.
- Partner with departments, including project management, finance and legal to align risk management activities.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs to embed a risk-conscious mindset within the organization.
- Utilize data-driven insights to support risk-based decision-making.
- Analyze trends and emerging risks to develop forward-looking risk management strategies.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of insurance policies specific to renewable energy projects, ensuring adequate coverage for non-financial risks.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to tailor policies that meet the unique needs of renewable energy initiatives and support effective risk transfer mechanisms.
