Agile Methodology Expertise is preferred

  • Expertise in working within agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) with experience in managing product backlogs, defining sprint goals, and leading sprint planning.

 

Risk Management and Problem-Solving Skills

PO Responsibilities in Agile:

  • Lead sprint ceremonies (planning, review, retrospectives) and manage the development pipeline to ensure timely delivery of features.
  • Continuous Improvement: Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement for both the team and the product.

 

Leadership and Vision

  • Team Empowerment: Lead the squad by motivating team members, aligning them with the overall business goals, and supporting their professional growth.
  • Visionary Thinking: Ability to maintain a long-term view for the expansion of corporate insurance products while being able to adapt and pivot as the market or business needs evolve.
  • Results-Oriented: Focused on driving outcomes with measurable success metrics, such as customer satisfaction, product adoption, and profitability.

 

Education & Certifications

  • Educational Background: A degree in business, finance, insurance, economics, or a related field. An MBA is often preferred. 
  • Insurance Certifications: Existence of CII certificates are preferred.
  • Agile Certifications: A Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification is recommended. 

 

Soft Skills

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting, stakeholder management, and customer interactions.
  • Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating with stakeholders to reach consensus on key product features and priorities.
  • Empathy: Ability to understand both customer and team perspectives to drive alignment and create products that meet both business and user needs.

  • Corporate Insurance Knowledge: Familiarity with corporate insurance products, underwriting processes, claims management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the insurance sector.
  • Strong Product Management Skills.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to create and drive a product roadmap focused on expanding corporate insurance offerings, aligning with business objectives, and addressing customer pain points.
  • Requirements Gathering & Prioritization: Expertise in gathering detailed product requirements, understanding market needs, and prioritizing features and enhancements based on ROI, risk, and value.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of corporate insurance products from ideation to launch and post-launch support.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, marketing, operations, compliance, sales, and customer support teams to drive product success.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including underwriting teams, actuaries, risk management professionals, and external insurance partners.
