Basic Function:

• The QC Inspector for Final Inspection is responsible for ensuring that all finished components and assemblies meet customer requirements, job specifications, and industry standards prior to release. The inspector performs comprehensive visual, dimensional, and non-destructive tests, including Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), and guarantees proper identification and traceability through marking and colour coding.

Key Tasks:

Perform detailed final inspections including:

• Visual Checks: Inspect products for surface defects, dimensional conformity, cleanliness, surface treatment coating, and overall workmanship.
• Drift Test: Verify critical internal diameters and passageways using drift gauges to confirm tolerance compliance.
• Identification Marking: Ensure each product is correctly and clearly marked with traceable identification data such as heat numbers, serial numbers, batch codes, and part numbers according to customer and company standards.
• Nondestructive Examination (NDE): Execute MPI and LPI inspections to detect surface and near-surface defects like cracks, laps, and porosity, using calibrated equipment and certified procedures.
• Color Coding: Apply or verify color coding on products for material differentiation, inspection status, or quality classification as per established marking schemes.
• Documentation: Accurately record all inspection data, test results, and observations; prepare detailed inspection reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) where necessary; maintain compliance records for traceability.
• Verify calibration status and proper use of all inspection and NDE tools.
• Review of job file for the compliance to the process steps shown in the job route card including the availability of the process records.
• Communicate inspection findings promptly to Machine Shop and QA/QC departments.
• Ensure adherence to applicable API, ISO, and company quality management standards during inspection activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in inspection techniques and quality assurance processes.
• Perform various other duties assigned by QA/QC Supervisor and /or QA/QC Lead Inspector within the physical constraints of the job.
